Mumps
A young boy seen this morning obviously suffering from Mumps. Throat was clear but had swelling to both sides of his face and neck. Initially thought it may be a strep throat but after closer examination it became clearly a case of Mumps.
Advice given, thought about antibiotics but as Mumps is a viral infection and no secondary infection was obvious, this was thought not needed. Will check on him on Monday when I return to the village.
