The Walks

The Streets.

Phnom Penh is a big, bustling, noisy, dirty Asian city.

Its people are friendly and generally show great respect and understanding towards western travellers if that respect is reciprocated.

Street crime is pretty low but does happen, as in all cities and you need to be aware and sensible with the gear you carry and how you carry it. Of course you can be so protective of your camera that you never get any pictures which defeats the object of having the camera with you. Insurance is recommended. That said I would much rather walks the streets here than in LA or London and always feel much safer in Phnom Penh.

The streets hold a wealth of opportunities for the photographer but thoughtless and intrusive actions, as always, need to be avoided. Treat people with respect and you will have no problems.

Each of my walks is designed in such a way as to economically use time and energy to see a slice of the city, its places and the lives of its people. I always do this with your needs and your safety in mind and will not take you to parts of the city that may be considered too risky, and there are a few.

The Markets

The markets, of which there are many, all have a different personality and lots of photgraphic opportunities.

The Wats

There are many Wats in Phnom Penh that are worth a visit along the way.
